  1. Upgradation of Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) in Mumbai

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is upgrading several STPs to enhance their capacity and efficiency. The Bhandup, Ghatkopar, and Versova plants are expected to be completed by July 2026, while others like Worli, Bandra, and Dharavi are slated for completion by 2027. These upgrades aim to ensure that wastewater is treated to higher standards before being released or reused.

  1. Automation of Bhandup Water Treatment Plant

Schneider Electric has been contracted to automate the Bhandup Water Treatment Plant, India’s largest, which processes 2,000 million liters of water daily. This automation will enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase the plant’s capacity to recycle wastewater.
